Where to get Bones
Now you know the basics or prayer, but you may be asking yourself, "where can I get some of these bones to bury?" Well, you could always buy the bones, but that could really put a hole in your bank. Dragon bones sell for about 3000gp each. Big bones go for about 500gp each. The cheapest way to raise prayer is to just kill monsters for the bones. If the text is red, it means the monster is in a members only area.
Boneyard
Directly north of Varrock and the wilderness chaos temple is a bone yard streaching nearly the whole width of Varrock, and going from level 25 to 27 wilderness. Since you are in the wilderness, the level 22 skeletons here will be aggressive, no matter your level. The boneyard contains 5 big bone respawns and over 35 regular bone respawns. Recommended items to bring are food 8 lobsters/cakes and a weapon if you must, but you could just pick up the iron scimitar that respawns there also. Don't worry, PKers are rarely found here anyway. Non-members can just bury the bones right where the stand, and members can bank them for worshipping Ectofuntus.
Regular Bones
Most of the smaller monsters in the RuneScape world drop regular bones. A great spot for raising prayer with regular bones is the Khazard battlefield (members only). There are some monsters that do not drop any bones, however. Some examples include: Spiders, Scorpions, Animated Axes, Earth Warriors, Demons, Ghosts, Otherworldly Beings, Imps, Ice Warriors and some quest monsters.
Wolf Bones
Wolf Bones are pretty much the same as normal bones. You can bury them for the same amount of experience as a normal bone, or you can use a chisel on them to make some arrow heads. Wolf bones are obtained from killing different types of wolves spread through the runescape world. Wolves can be found at the following places:
White Wolf (lv25) - Around White Mountain
Desert Wolf (lv27) - Al Kharid Desert Area
White Wolf Sentry (lv31) - Around White Mountain
Grey Wolf (lv64) - Wilderness level 50-54
Wolf (lv64) - Khazard battlefield, Rellekka, Tree Gnome Village Maze
Big Wolf (lv71) - Around White Wolf Mountain
Burnt Bones
Burnt bones can be found at the Greater Demon hut in the wilderness. They give the same experience as normal bones, but are "burnt". Be careful of Player Killers when gathering these bones.
Bat Bones
Bat bones are dropped by those pesky flying bats. They give a tiny bit more experience than normal bones. They are recommended for members that have low level prayer. Bats can be found at the following places:
Giant Bat (lv27) - Giant room in Taverley Dungeon
Giant Bat (lv27) - Outside Keep LeFaye
Giant Bat (lv27) - Inside Legend's Guild Dungeon
Giant Bat (lv27) - Coal truck mining area
Giant Bat (lv27) - Various other underground caverns
Big Bones
Big Bones are the best bone on F2P. They give 15xp each and are dropped by bigger creatures. There are many monsters that drop big bones. Monsters that drop big bones can be found at the following places:
Hill Giant (lv28) - Edgeville dungeon
Hill Giant (lv28) - Tree Gnome Village Maze
Moss Giant (lv40) - Varrock Sewers
Moss Giant (lv40) - Wilderness
Moss Giant (lv40) - Near Baxtorian Falls, Crandor and Brimhaven
Ogre(lv48) - Ardougne Sewers
Ogre (lv48) - Blood Rune Chest
Jogre (lv48) - Karamja Jungle
Ice Giant (lv54) - Blurite Cave
Ice Giant (lv54) - Wilderness
Ice Giant (lv54) - White Wolf Mountain
Fire Giant (lv93) - Wilderness
Fire Giant (lv93) - Inside Waterfall
Babydragon Bones
Babydragon Bones are dropped by Baby Blue Dragons in the Taverley dungeon. They were one of the most popular and fastest methods for raising prayer. Baby Blue Dragons do not have dragons breath so you do not need an Anti-Fire shield to train on them. Babydragon bones can be obtained at the following places:
Baby blue dragon (lv48) - Taverley Dungeon next to Blue Dragons.
Baby red dragon (lv65 - Karamja Dragon Dungeon.
Dragon Bones
Dragon Bones used to be the highest bone in Runescape. They give 72xp each and are expensive if bought from other people. They are hard to obtain if you are a low level due to Dragons being quite strong. When fighting Dragons, Anti-fire potions or an Anti-fire shield are pretty much required. Dragons can be found at the following places:
Green dragons (lv79) - Level 13 and 37 Wilderness
Blue dragons (lv111) - Taverley dungeon, Hero's Guild basement cage, Ogre cave (Watchtower Quest)
Bronze dragons (lv131) - Karamja Dragon Dungeon
Red dragons (lv152) - Level 39 Wilderness, Karamja Dragon Dungeon
Iron dragons (lv189) - Karamja Dragon Dungeon
Black dragons (lv227) - Taverley Dungeon, Wilderness Dungeon at end of Lava Maze
Steel dragons (lv246) - Karamja Dragon Dungeon
King black dragon (lv279) - Level 41 wilderness

Ectofuntus Worship
The best way to get the most prayer experience from your bones is to worship the Ectofuntus. You get four times (4x) the prayer experience per bone than you would if you had normally buried the bones. To do this, you must have started the Ghosts Ahoy Quest, though having completed the quest and having the Ectophial is a big plus.
After you have collected and banked a bunch of bones (Perferably Big Bones or higher), go to Port Phasmatys bank (Wear your ghost speak amulet to make banking faster) and collect 12 pots and 12 bones.
Go to the Ectofuntus tower, just north of Port Phasmatys (Using the Ectophial makes this quick and easy, if you have completed Ghosts Ahoy) and go upstairs.
Carefully right click on your bones and use it on the bone grinder. If you're not carefull, you'll accidently bury the bones instead, getting normal prayer experience.
After you put the bones into the bone grinder, click on the bone grinder to wind it, then right click and empty the bone grinder. This will fill up one of your pots with Bonemeal.
Once you have all 12 bones ground and in the pots, go back to the bank and grab 12 buckets. Go back to the Ectofuntus tower again and this time go through the trap door to the west of the Ectofuntus. Work your way down to the bottom of the four levels, and fill your 12 buckets with Ectoplasm from the pool at the bottom. When you're done, go back to the main floor. (This would be a good time to use the Ectophial.)
Now you should have 12 pots of Bonemeal, and 12 buckets of Ectoplasm in your inventory. Just left click on the Ectofuntus to worship it. Each time you worship the Ectofuntus, one Bonemeal and one Ectoplasm will be used up. You won't be able to worship more than 12 times without collecting the ecto tokens from the Ghost Disciple. Once you are done and have collected your ecto tokens, go back to the bank, deposit the buckets, grab 12 more bones, and repeat the process.
